Description

This is a painting from the house l grew up in looking out towards the street from the front yard. It’s a typical Melbourne street in the suburb of Clayton South which is located in the South East of Melbourne. The street includes the paperbark trees so common in suburban Melbourne streets and the ever present powerlines. The positioning of these trees and power poles (with the close and distant arrangement of these elements), combined with the contrast of light and shadow, helps create depth within the painting and draws the viewer in.
