Radha-Krishna Painting

Description

Radha Krishna represents the divine couple in Hinduism-Lord Krishna and his beloved consort Radha. Their relationship is spiritually significant as it symbolises eternal love and devotion. When deciding to paint the couple l thought of a few possibilities including painting a representation of the couple. I finally decided to use my photo of actual statues of Radha Krishna (from a temple) as the subject to paint, as l felt this was in a way a real representation of this divine couple that l could capture in a realistic painting. The photo is immense in detail and contrasting textures which provided a great challenge to depict on canvas.
