View from Rialto Tower Building

This painting is a view from the Rialto Tower Buildings top deck showing the Central Business District CBD, (also commonly referred to as downtown) of Melbourne and the broader city surroundings. The top deck was a major tourist attraction primarily for sightseeing, but it closed as a sky deck in 2009 and it’s spaces are now occupied by a restaurant which now offer lucky diners the magnificent views. Sky deck viewing can still be enjoyed at Skydeck Eureka Tower across the river looking towards downtown. This view of the city from the Rialto Tower is from the vantage point of looking from within the downtown area. The city’s main towers are on full display here including the tops of buildings, with the streets below enhancing the 2 way perspective all of which draws you into the painting.
